I recently read an article about how little Christian bloggers write about our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. The article basically outlined that “Jesus” was one of the most searched terms in the context of Christian keywords, yet the Christian blogs or articles that wrote about Him were “only a few”. Most content focused on faith, encouragement, etc. Which are important and great topics. I mean, hey my blog is all about sharing inspiring and motivating content with the world. But who is Jesus and why should there be more written about Him? If you have been following me and reading some of my other content you would know that I credit all my work, creativity, success and ability to my Lord Jesus Christ. Without Him, I won’t be who I am today and wouldn’t even have the ability to write this blog post.
The Name of Jesus is Above All Other Names
In Colossians 1:15-18 (NLT) the Bible describes Jesus Christ this way: “Christ is the visible image of the invisible God. He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation, for through him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. He made the things we can see and the things we can’t see— such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world. Everything was created through him and for him. He existed before anything else, and he holds all creation together. Christ is also the head of the church, which is his body. He is the beginning, supreme over all who rise from the dead. So he is first in everything.” Amazing! Let that sink in for a moment.
Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior
I don’t know about you but I cringe everytime I see people using the name of Jesus in a context that doesn’t glorify Him. It actually makes me sad how little people seem to know about our savior. Very often those people are even Christians. There is no name that could be compared to His name. Think about your family or friends and now think if there’s anyone among them that could or even be willing to do what Jesus Christ did to save us. Now think again but this time about the powerful and successful people of our time. People that are so wealthy that their names will grant them favors, give them access to places and things that others can’t, and can afford anything they want. As powerful as these people might seem their status, power, and money will never buy their way to salvation, they will never able to raise the dead or heal the sick. Those are some extreme examples, you might say. OK, what about simpler things like peace of mind, true joy and happiness? These things can never be attained by worldly things either. Is life easier when you have material wealth? Probably. But that’s just one aspect and that’s where many get it wrong. The Bible says: “For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?” Mark 8:36 NKJV That means as wonderful as life can be when you have money and success, those things are only temporary. Your focus should be on eternity – on what happens after your time here on earth has elapsed.
Jesus is the Only Way to Heaven
Now back to the name of Jesus Christ – what a glorious name it is! The Bible says: “Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” Philippians 2:9-11 NIV There is nobody like Him in the previous world, present world, or world to come. There are no shortcuts to heaven – He is the only way.
Being a Part of The Body of Christ
If you are reading this and feel like you want to get to know Him, really get to know Him intimately, I invite you to pray this prayer by saying these words out loud:
“O Lord God, I believe with all my heart in Jesus Christ, Son of the living God. I believe He died for me and God raised Him from the dead. I believe He’s alive today. I confess with my mouth that Jesus Christ is the Lord of my life from this day. Through Him and in His Name, I have eternal life; I’m born again. Thank you Lord, for saving my soul! I’m now a child of God. Hallelujah!”
Welcome to the family of Jesus Christ! You have just made the best decision of your life and embarked on a journey that will be more rewarding than anything you’ve ever experienced. Reach out and let’s talk, I’d like to be part of it. God bless you.
